Whether in preparation for an audition or a play, Fay will work
with you on your physical vitality and flow of energy. The body
of your
character, your body, will be approached organically, by first
becoming aware of your own habits imprinted on you by your history.
If your
shoulders are up to your ears, then the session will involve
deep tissue massage to relieve the shoulders. The goal of this
work is
to find the body of your character inside you, so your text is
spoken from your physical truth, not from your intellectual mind.
These
sessions will quickly teach you how to redistribute your energy
to suit the given circumstances of the character. Bring in classical,
contemporary, or original material in development.
Company Coaching
A single or series of Lucid Body workshops can be brought to your studio or theater
to help prepare the cast for rehearsals. Cost negotiable.
Collaborative Production
The Lucid Body workshops can be used to develop and unearth new material with
your company members, leading towards a completed work. Members of Impact Theatre
can also be utilized
Fay Simpson has been a Directing Fellow at The
New Globe Theatre under the auspices of Mark Rylance, has taught
The Shakespeare
workshop with Joe Siravo for six years, and created and directed
original
material for twelve years.
